Overview
- No robotics experience is necessary to join!
- Our team builds an industrial robot from the ground up
- Learn engineering, electronics, and programming from real-world professionals and student leaders
- We are led by student officers and adult mentors
- Our goal is to make STEM fun for everyone!
- We compete in the global FIRSTĀ® Robotics Competition
- Thousands of teams around the world are given eight weeks to build a robot for the yearly challenge
- We have to design and fabricate the robot all ourselves, although we do use some over-the-shelf parts
- Human players drive the robot on a basketball court-sized playing field against other teams
- We start with two local events and advance to the Chesapeake District Championship based on ranking
